Değerli izleyicim, 449 fotoğraftan oluşan bu albümde, 2025 yıllında gezdiğim ve görüntülediğim Amasya Müzesi’nin iç ve dış detaylarını ve sergilenen eserleri göreceksiniz. Anlatım metininde müze hakkında detaylı bilgiler okuyacaksınız.
Amasya Müzesi, Türkiye’nin en köklü yerel müzelerinden biridir. Şehir merkezinde, Hatuniye Mahallesi yakınında yer alır. 1925 yılında kurulan müze, önce II. Bayezid Külliyesi’nin imaret kısmında hizmet vermiştir. Artan koleksiyon hacmi nedeniyle, 1977 yılında bugünkü modern binasına taşınmıştır. Günümüzde müze, arkeolojik ve etnografik eserleriyle Amasya’nın 7 bin yılı aşan tarihini kapsamlı biçimde tanıtır.
Yapı, modern müzecilik anlayışına göre tasarlanmış, dikdörtgen planlı bir binadır. Betonarme taşıyıcı sistem üzerine taş kaplama cephelerle inşa edilmiştir. Giriş bölümünde geniş merdivenler ve sade bir taçkapı formu bulunur. İç mekân, iki katlı olarak düzenlenmiştir. Üst kat, etnografik eserlerin sergilendiği bölüme, alt kat ise arkeolojik buluntulara ayrılmıştır.
Müzenin arkeolojik koleksiyonu, Hitit, Frig, Urartu, Pers, Helenistik, Roma ve Bizans dönemlerine ait eserlerden oluşur. Bu bölümde pişmiş toprak figürinler, bronz eşyalar, sikke koleksiyonları, mermer heykeller ve mezar stelleri yer alır. Özellikle Amasya çevresinde yapılan kazılarda çıkarılan Helenistik döneme ait mumyalar, müzenin en dikkat çekici bölümlerindendir. Bu mumyalar, Anadolu’da korunan en iyi örnekler arasında kabul edilir.
Etnografya bölümünde, Osmanlı dönemine ait geleneksel Amasya ev eşyaları, halı ve kilimler, bakır mutfak gereçleri, silahlar ve takılar sergilenir. Ayrıca Amasya’nın zengin dini ve kültürel yaşamını yansıtan el yazması Kur’an-ı Kerimler, hat levhaları ve ahşap işçiliği örnekleri bulunur.
Müzenin açık hava sergi alanında antik sütun başlıkları, lahitler, mezar taşları ve kitabeler sergilenmektedir. Bu bölüm, ziyaretçilere kentin antik çağlardan itibaren süregelen taş işçiliği geleneğini gözlemleme fırsatı sunar.
Yapı, 2010 yılında kapsamlı bir restorasyon ve teşhir yenileme sürecinden geçirilmiş, çağdaş müze standartlarına uygun olarak düzenlenmiştir. Günümüzde müze, dijital rehberlik sistemleri ve ışıklandırma düzenleri ile ziyaretçilere daha etkili bir deneyim sunmaktadır.
Amasya Müzesi, yalnızca bir sergi alanı değil, aynı zamanda bölgedeki kazı çalışmalarını yönlendiren bilimsel bir merkez işlevi de taşır. Arkeologlar ve sanat tarihçileri için önemli bir araştırma noktasıdır.
Bugün, Amasya Müzesi; zengin koleksiyonları, düzenli teşhir planı ve mimari sadeliğiyle hem yerli hem yabancı ziyaretçilerin ilgisini çeker. Kentin tarihî sürekliliğini somut biçimde ortaya koyan en önemli kültürel yapılardan biridir.

Dear viewer, in this album of 449 photographs, you will see the interior and exterior details and exhibits of the Amasya Museum, which I visited and photographed in 2025. You will read detailed information about the museum in the accompanying text.
The Amasya Museum is one of the oldest regional museums in Turkey. It is located in the city center, near the Hatuniye District. The museum was first founded in 1925 and was housed in the Imaret section of the Bayezid II Complex. As the collection grew, a new modern building was built, and the museum moved there in 1977. Today, it displays archaeological and ethnographic artifacts that reflect more than 7,000 years of Amasya’s history.
The building has a rectangular plan and was designed according to modern museum principles. It is a reinforced concrete structure with stone-clad façades. The entrance is reached by wide steps and features a simple portal design. Inside, the museum has two floors — the lower floor for archaeology and the upper floor for ethnography.
The archaeological collection includes objects from the Hittite, Phrygian, Urartian, Persian, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods. Among the exhibits are terracotta figurines, bronze tools, coins, marble statues, and grave steles. One of the most remarkable sections is the Hellenistic-period mummies found during excavations around Amasya. These mummies are considered some of the best-preserved examples in Anatolia.
The ethnographic section presents items from the Ottoman period. Visitors can see traditional Amasya household objects, woven carpets, copper kitchenware, weapons, and jewelry. There are also handwritten Qur’an manuscripts, calligraphy panels, and wood-carving works that reflect Amasya’s religious and cultural heritage.
Outside the main building, the open-air exhibition area displays ancient columns, sarcophagi, tombstones, and inscriptions. This area gives visitors a sense of the region’s stone-carving traditions dating back to ancient times.
The museum underwent a major restoration in 2010, with renewed exhibition layouts and modern lighting systems. Today, it offers a clear and educational experience supported by digital information panels and guided tours.
The Amasya Museum is not only a display space but also a research and conservation center. It supports archaeological excavations and collaborates with historians and scientists.
Today, the museum stands as one of Amasya’s most important cultural landmarks. With its rich collections, modern organization, and architectural simplicity, it connects the city’s ancient past to its living heritage.
